I learnt AI the hard way, so you don't have to

I've packaged up the 1000's of hours of learning into training, for you to leapfrog ahead of the rest.

About Me and My AI Journey

I want everyone to experience the shift from nervous or sceptic, to wow AI can really help me do my job. My training gives you practical AI skills that make a real difference to your work. I tell you what’s worth your time and what’s noise, and I share where I got it horribly wrong so you can skip the mental meltdown. I teach AI that solves real problems, cutting through the hype so you can judge what to hand off to the technology and what stays firmly in your own capable hands.

TL;DR
01 / An unusual path

My AI journey started during my 26-year career in the travel industry, which is an unusual path. I don’t have a software engineering or technical background, and that’s a big part of why I teach and use AI a bit differently to others.

02 / the playground

In 2022, when ChatGPT launched, I was a travel buyer at a Mag 7 tech company. As they began building their own proprietary AI tools and models, I was handed a rare gift: free AI training and the chance to test, build and try to break their tools. It was a great playground, and it gave me the freedom to learn the foundations of AI before the market flooded with thousands of tools.

03 / “That’s just software”

I then joined a software startup as the resident travel domain expert, and that’s where my AI learning really took off. I worked alongside tech-savvy founders who encouraged us to experiment with whatever tool we wanted, and experienced software engineers who took technology, data and risk incredibly seriously. When I pitched early, overly enthusiastic AI ideas, their dry response was often "That’s just software." Annoying at the time, but it taught me to question the hype, understand the risks and ask whether AI was actually the right solution.

04 / Vibe coding

My obsession with AI continued when I discovered vibe coding. I got access to the company's Lovable account to build prototypes, and was hooked. For the first time, I felt completely limitless. AI had demolished the barriers that kept me a cog in the system. With AI, I realised I could build the system.

05 / The learning loop

Fuelled by that limitless feeling, I fell into a deep learning loop. I listened to endless AI podcasts while doing chores, gardening or driving, and chased the dopamine rush of learning something new every day. It wasn’t always smooth. There were broken tools, late-night tantrums and moments when the limitless feeling faded into sheer frustration. But the breakthroughs kept the dopamine hits coming.

06 / Turning AI on admin

The next leap came when I turned AI on my worst enemy: admin. That’s when some guy called Claude changed things for good. Using Claude and Cowork, I automated the boring, time-sapping tasks clogging my week, and translated what I was learning from AI entrepreneurs into practical workflows that actually held up in a corporate environment.

07 / Teaching it

I was asked to build and deliver an AI skills programme for our travel-manager community. Designing and running those sessions gave me a completely new dopamine hit. Watching trainees hit their own "aha" moment, learning a skill and immediately using it on something outside the training pack, is where their own limitless thinking begins. I want everyone to experience that shift. And that's why I'm doing this. I want to close the widening gap between AI "experts" and everyone else.
